Kattaca

These images called 'Flowers in December' are shot by one of my favourite photographers-Paco Peregrin.
He works very closely with the styling duo known as 'KATTACAMario Ville and Carol Gamarra. You can pick out their collaborations a mile off. They experiment with structural fabrics and shapes, a kaleidoscope of colours and prints and have an amazing hair and make-up team too.

I like the contrast between the perfectly polished models with their synthetic accessories and the natural organic shapes and colours of the flowers. The mix between high-fashion and nature is very successful.

Craig McDean

Karen Elson is one of my favourite models. She can convey so many different emotions through her facial expressions and the combination of her porcelain skin and fiery hair is just gorgeous. I really like these images. I am interested in combining different media such as painting and drawing into my images as I haven't really tried it before but some outcomes look stunning. The textures and the colour palette work well together  in this series. I also love the feeling of movement and freedom that has been enhanced with post production.

"Craig McDean is a photographer and filmmaker who is renowned for his striking fashion imagery and portraiture. Having discovered photography by taking pictures of his rocker friends in the North of England, McDean moved to London, where he assisted before striking out on his own with assignments for i-D and The Face. In 1999, McDean made his highly anticipated publishing debut with I Love Fast Cars, his homage to the world of drag racing and the community who love it. In 2004, his second book, Lifescapes, was published by Steidl/Dangin. McDean currently lives in New York, and has photographed campaigns for Dior, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani, Estee Lauder, and Calvin Klein. He regularly contributes to a range of international fashion publications including W, American, French, British and Italian Vogue, and Another Magazine. He is a 2008 recipient of the ICP Infinity Award."

Unearthly Creature Of A Dream

Director: Anna Dobos
Designer: Scott Park SS11
Makup: Dana Delaney
Models: Nicole Edwards @ Photogenics / / Layla Mae @ Ford
Soundtrack: "Mumbai" : oOoOO

I really like the art direction of this fashion film. It is a bit weird and trippy and doesn't make any sense but that what I like best :) The scott park SS11  is amazing and that purple hair is just crazy!

Amber Gray

"The characters portrayed in Amber Gray’s work
inhabit a world more colorful, dramatic, and whimsical
than our own. Strong, beautiful women burst forth from
narrow, mile-high staircases and mysterious gypsy girls
conjure black stallions from fire. Amber’s sense of humor
and penchant for glam-rock peek through the controlled
chaos revealing unique, memorable, and bewitching personalities. "

Amber Gray has now turned her direction towards film directing.

Jamie Nelson

I particularly like the vintage feel to these images. They have a nostalgic appeal with the hazy focus and seventies styling. The model's poses and facial expressions are dreamy.

Kirsty Mitchell

I think I honestly love every aspect of Kirsty Mitchell's 'Wonderland' series. The beautiful garden locations, the flawless styling and the captivating use of colour.
"The costumes, the props, the sets and accessories, are all part of the process that is finally recorded in the finished product of the photograph. It is driven by the need to produce tangible pieces of my dreams, and make it possible to step into the scenes for real. This physical creation is my favourite part, and has taken me to places I would have otherwise never known. I have walked on snow covered in flowers, stood in lakes at sunset, painted trees, set fire to chairs, made smoking umbrellas, and giant wigs from stolen flowers. I have laughed, been overwhelmed, and left in awe of all the things I had previously passed unnoticed until now ......."

So here is my blog made especially for the fashion image module I am studying this semester. As a styling student I am really looking forward to collaborating with new photographers to create some amazing images! It would also be great to get to know other creative people so that we can collaborate on future projects too :)
